Project Description

Jia Ying Lee

Our heartiest congratulations go to Jia Ying Lee for clinching the WorldSkills (Gold) in the Freight Forwarding Category. Jia will be representing Singapore in the WorldSkills ASEAN in April 2021 and WorldSkills International in Shanghai in September 2021.

Coming from a single parent household, the financial assistance provided by AkarakA has helped Jia to cover her daily expenses while studying. She stays with her grandmother who is wheelchair bound and her mom, who is currently unemployed as she is taking care of her ailing mother.
She is currently pursuing a diploma in International Trade and Business at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and aims to further her education at the Singapore Management University.
Over the years, Jia has been a part of a number of workshops conducted by AkarakA with topics ranging from cyber security to sustainable living and mental health. Through these workshops, Jia was able to identify the sectors she was interested in.
She is driven to excel in her field of study and hopes to secure a stable job so that she can support her family.
AkarakA believes in giving back to the society by way of educating students and equipping them with industry relevant skills so that they can attain a better future.

The privilege of having a university education is a gift that changed everything for my family – starting with my father.

It doesn’t take much to change a life, Get in touch today and start making the difference.
