Project Description

Ong Si Ni

Si Ni is a cheerful and bright girl, always looking for a silver lining! She is a Singaporean and comes from a family of 6. Her mother and the eldest sister are the only earning members. As a family they ensure that all the children receive a basic education. However, supporting and educating a large family in Singapore is a huge stretch for any household.

Si Ni’s mother was very proud when Si Ni got the sponsorship from AkarakA to support her studies in Banking and Finance from the Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Si Ni feels that AkarakA engages with the scholars and keeps them updated them with the current trends such as, the use of AI, importance of Public Speaking, Being Resilient and various other relevant topics to prepare them for the Corporate world. Her journey with AkarakA thus far, has benefited her both financially and socially. It has allowed her to meet and socialise with her fellow scholars.

She will graduate in 2021 and hopes to get a job in the Financial Sector so she can contribute to her family’s income for a more comfortable lifestyle.

The privilege of having a university education is a gift that changed everything for my family – starting with my father.

It doesn’t take much to change a life, Get in touch today and start making the difference.
