Pann Chyy is 23 years old and comes from a small province in Cambodia. He lost his father many years back and his mother, who is 62 years old sustains the household as a farmer.
Pann Chhy is pursuing a bachelor’s degree of Civil Engineering at the Institute of Technology in Cambodia, forcing him to move to Phnom Penh from his birth town. He is working diligently towards his goal of qualifying in 2021 and is looking forward to contributing to the development of Cambodia.
As Pann Chhy, says “AkarakA’s support is an immense benefit for me because without the scholarship I would not have been able to pursue my dream of becoming a Civil Engineer. In addition, the mentorship programs held, especially the one on “Being Resilient” has helped me to understand my own ability to continue under pressure as well as appreciate my mother’s resilience in continuing as a farmer to sustain ourselves.”
If it was not for the support of AkarakA it would have been near impossible for me to continue my studies specially with the stress of huge debts that students incur today.
